CLEAR EVACUATION OF CRITICAL AREAS

Gaseous extinguishing systems are typically used in critical areas of a business that require protection from a developing fire situation, where water damage must be avoided. High risk areas such as computer/server rooms, electrical switchgear rooms, telecoms rooms as well as archive stores, laboratories, gas turbines and oil installations are just some of the applications in which these systems have been installed. The generic alarm sequence for gas extinguishing systems comprises four distinctive stages specified in British, European and international standards. The first stage indicates that a single detector has been activated and action is required. The second stage is identified by a pulsed tone and indicates that two detectors have been activated (known as the 'coincidence alarm') confirming the presence of a fire and the imminent release of the extinguishant system.
