Government releases latest fire stats

The office for National Statistics has published figures on fire casualty data and fire and rescue service call outs for 2013-2014. These figures show a 5% reduction in fatal fires across the UK during the past year, which equates to a 40% drop over the last decade. There is a similar reduction in the number of people injured in fires, which has fallen to less than half the number of casualties in 2004.
