Landlord fined £50,000 for fire safety breaches

A DERBY landlord has been given a suspended prison sentence and fined £50,000 after pleading guilty to numerous breaches of fire safety law, after a fire at his converted house two years ago. On 5 July Derby Crown Court sentenced Thirunavukkaradu Kuladaisamy to nine months' imprisonment, suspended for two years, as well as the £50,000 fine and court costs of £22,861 for breaches of the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005.
