New AFS Membership Secretary

Dr. Jordan Metzgar is the new AFS Membership Secretary, taking over from Dr. Blanca Leon after her four years of service in the position. Jordan recently moved to Virginia to serve as curator of the Massey Herbarium at Virginia Tech. Jordan is a fern systematist and has studied a diverse array of fern lineages. He completed his dissertation research on the boreal parsley ferns (Cryptogramma) in 2016. Originally from upstate New York, he joined AFS in 2001 as an undergraduate newly infected with pteridomania. Please contact Jordan with membership inquiries.
