Gas edged up again

A steady flow of fixtures ensured that the vessels were seen logging in better activity at a firming trend. April passed without any particular headline events in the VLGC market. Measured by the number of spot fixtures, it was an "ordinary" month, and freight rates climbed steadily from low USD 40,000's per ton, to very high USD 40,000's per ton for the index-voyage Ras Tanura/Chiba. The Baltic freight index rose concurrendy through April, and ended in fact just over the USD 50,000 mark for similar index-voyage.
