Intimate Partner Violence

Evaluation of the Judicial Oversight Demonstration: Findings and Lessons on Implementation discusses the Judicial Oversight Demonstration (JOD) Initiative, an effort to improve the provision of services to victims of intimate partner violence (IPV), increase victim safety, and hold offenders more accountable. JOD activities were jointly funded and managed by the Office on Violence Against Women and the National Institute of Justice (NIJ). The Urban Institute conducted an independent, multisite evaluation under a cooperative agreement with NIJ. This report, part a of series of reports on JOD, reveals some of the findings of an evaluation of the initiative and presents lessons learned about implementing court-involved IPV prevention programs.
