And, because Cat-Link V was taking the more traditional route from Ambrose Light to Bishop Rock on its delivery voyage to Denmark, a successful attempt would also establish a new record for the fastest ever crossing, beating the 3 days 7 hours 54 minutes recorded by Incat Tasmania 74m wavepiercer Hoverspeed Great Britain in 1990.
