Image Marine builds catamarans for Norwegian operator

Two 41m catamarans built by the Image Marine division of Austal Ships for Ofotens og Vesteraalens Dampskibssel-skab were shipped from Fremantle on May 17. The vessels, Salten and Steigtind, are to be officially named in Bodo, Norway, on June 24. Image Marine reports, "Designed and built specifically for harsh weather conditions and to meet the service requirements of isolated communities, the passenger-cargo catamarans will be the only transportation link for travel and supplies between many small islands and the mainland.
