There arrived at Cardiff about the end of last week for periodical docking the oil tanker Lampania, a 9,000dwt vessel of the Shell Company, which operates one of the largest tanker fleets under one houseflag. The Lampania called at Cardiff after discharging at the Shell Stanlow refinery, on the Manchester Ship Canal, a cargo of vapourising oil from Trinidad.rnA notable feature of the vessel has been the operation of her diesel engines during the past 12 months on boiler fuel - a heavier and cheaper grade of fuel than normally used.
