From test tubes to port cubes

Mark Yong, director of consulting company BMT Asia Pacific, narrates to IHS Fairplay a mantra that he heeds when carrying out feasibility studies to assess risks and manage construction expectations. "Things can always be better, safer, faster, and more efficient," he repeatedly reminds himself and his staff. Yong enjoys the port development process from initial ideas to creations, much like the development of biological cells in a test tube. Molecular biology was Yong's first love. He graduated with a bachelor's degree from Liverpool University and doctor of philosophy degree (PhD) from Oxford University, both in molecular biology.
