Implementing the European Union's Class Regulation could lead to a two-tier division among its recognised organisations (ROs), which include some non-IACS classification societies. He ischairman of the mutual recognition advisory board of the EU's recognised organisationsand a senior vice-president in ABS's Europe Division, and said that the intention had always been to develop a system that included all ROs.
