The 2003 International Achievement Awards

For 56 years, IFAI's International Achievement Awards competition has recognized outstanding projects in the specialty fabrics industry. In December, 1949, the National Canvas Goods Manufacturers Review magazine reported that there were entries from 58 "localities" in four classifications. Winners at that time were awarded cash prizes ranging from $15 to $60; others received the "Perpetual Gold Award of Achievement." Since the inception of the competition, award winners have always been shown in a photo display at IFAI Expo each year, and subsequently featured in IFAI publications. Professionals from 13 countries submitted 291 entries in 26 categories this year. Our panel of expert judges selected 28 Award of Excellence winners and 55 Outstanding Achievement Award winners, some of which are featured in the following pages.
