Vodafone got lots of 'free' publicity this week, but could end up paying a high price. Two streakers exposed themselves, and the Vodafone logo, on the pitch of the Bleddisloe Cup match, and it was has been alleged that Vodafone CEO, Grahame Maher, had prior warning of the stunt, gave tacit approval and promised to pay any fines. The head of Vodafone's PR company, Love, said the stunt had generated "an amazing amount of publicity" and could spark a new trend in guerrilla marketing.
