Optus 'cloud PVR' service found not to breach Copyright Act

Telstra, theAFL and NRL have lost the first round in their battle to have the Optus TV Now service ruled in breach of the Copyright Act. However they are expected to appeal the court judgement handed down on Thursday. In the Federal Court in Sydney Judge Steven Rares ruled that the service - which enables Optus mobile customers to record any free to air TV program 'in the cloud' for later playback on their PC, Mac or Optus mobile device - did not breach the Copyright Act.
