EIB loans in Italy

The European Investment Bank (EIB) and the Intesa Sanpaolo Croup concluded on 23 July four new agreements totalling €470 million aimed at providing medium to long-term financing to Italian businesses. €300 million will be earmarked for Italian SMEs; the loans will be granted via Mediocredito ltaliano - the Intesa Sanpaolo Group's company specialising in medium and long-term SME financing - and Leasint, the group's leasing arm. €100 million will go towards supporting mid-cap investments in the energy, environment or R&D sectors.
