BEUC wants EP to reject Amendment 88

The reports by MEP Christofer Fjell ner (EPP, Sweden) on the provision of information on prescription medicines to the public received support from the European Parliament, on 24 November.rnMEPs favour a reorienta tion of the proposals~1. How ever, the European Consum ers' Organisation BEUC, backed by the Pharmaceutical Group of the European Union (PGEU), urges the EP not to take "a major step back in the wrong direction" by adopting Amendment 88 - tabled by the EPP, ECR and ALDE groups - which excludes from the directive material provided by pharmaceutical companies to health care professionals.
