Airtransport: ETS: MEPs urge Commission to find a solution

What will happen if, under intense inter national pressure, the inclusion of aviation in the EU's Emission Trading Scheme (ETS) fails to become a reality? In that case, "we will certainly proceed with a [jet fuel] taxation system," Jos Delbeke, direc tor-general of the European Commission's DG Climate Action, told the European Parliament's Committee on Transport (TRAN), on 28 February. Things have not reached that point yet, though.
