MEPs question funding and participation

Members of the European Parliament's Committee on Industry, Research and Energy (ITRE) welcome the Council Presidency's dedication to the Horizon 2020 research and innovation framework, but are critical of its proposed measures to boost participation and effectively allocate funding. Morten Ostergaard, Danish minister for research, innovation and higher education confirmed at an ITRE hearing, on 24 January, that the goal of the Presidency is to reach "a partial general approach on Horizon 2020 by 31 May 2012".
