It's official: the EU-US Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership (TTIP) has received the political go-ahead as the Group of Eight (G8) summit kicked off, on 17 June in Lough Erne, Northern Ireland. "Today is a special day for the relations between the European Union and the United States. Today we announce we will start negotiations of a comprehensive Transatlantic Trade and Investment Partnership agreement," European Commission President Jose Manuel Barroso said at the opening of the G8 summit.
