Political aareement on reform of state aid rules

The Competitiveness Council of 30 May worked out a political agreement on reform of the two main state aid regulations: the 1999 procedural Regulation 659/1999 and the 1998 enabling Regulation 994/98. The ministers endorsed the guidelines proposed by the European Commission, on 5 December 2012, for streamlining state aid procedures and exempting more categories of aid from the prior notification obligation.
