Court of Auditors: Energy efficiency support 'not cost-effective'

The EU Court of Auditors (ECA) has dealt another blow to Structural Fund investments in the EU. In a report made public on 14 January, it states that cohesion policy investments in energy efficiency are not cost-effective, in other words that they have not been designed to result in the greatest energy savings over the shortest period of time and at the best cost.
