One of the biggest semiconductor research meetings of the year is the US electrical engineers' IEEE iedm (international electron devices meeting). This year's event is scheduled for December 11-13 in San Francisco, CA. Cambridge university researchers will be reporting on all-polymer thin-film transistors (figure 1). Cambridge University spin-off company Cambridge Display Technology has been developing an ink-jet printing technology for light emitting polymer (LEP) displays in conjunction with Japanese ink-jet printer specialists Seiko Epson.
