摘要

Small to medium enterprises do not have the financial capabilities to perform radiated immunity testing in every stage of a product development cycle. Therefore, there is a need for a test tool, easy to handle, not too expensive, available in their own lab but most of all, it has to give repeatabie results. A study has proved that Bulk Current Injection performed with the EM-clamp can be that very handy design/engineering tool. The EM-clamp is very different to the well known current injection clamp as proposed by many standards. It gives a total new dimension fo BCI The study has proved that the EM-clamp gives very repeatable results, and most of all, in the absence of a shielded room. It can even been used in an extended frequency range up to 1 GHz and still gives reliable, repeatable results. When applied in an appropriate way, frequency-ranges which shows radiated immunity problems due to cabling, can be found by this BCI method, providing the design engineer an adequate laboratory tool to trace and solve the problems.
