The European Court of Justice Rules that State Licensing of Tobacco Retail Outlets is Compatible with EC Law

The ECJ has ruled that a state monopoly which requires the licensing of retail tobacco outlets does not act as a barrier to the free movement of goods and does not breach the competition rules of the EC Treaty.
