Great Projects

摘要

The exhibition of projects resulting from the consultation on 'Grand Paris' launched by the French president has just opened. Ten multidisci-plinary teams were accepted. Their job was to dream up the future of the capital along with its periphery in order to open up new urban perspectives for this agglomeration whose parts are too compartmentalized today. The ten teams carefully avoided looking into the new administrative and political aspects implied by the fact of regarding this capital and its suburbs as an ensemble, as one big city. Nevertheless, democratic repre-, sentativeness, through the election of residents' representatives in proportion to the size of this new urban region, is an essential issue. Sorting this out was left to the politicians themselves.
