Readers will be aware ((2017) 29 Environmental Law and Management 180) that the Scottish Government has been conducting a review of planning in Scotland, and the Bill is currently going through Stage Ⅰ in the Local Government and Communities Committee of the Scottish Parliament. The principal legislation in Scotland remains the Town and Country Planning (Scotland) Act 1997, but there were significant reforms introduced in the Planning (Scotland) Act 2006. The changes this time round are perhaps less dramatic but nonetheless there are several important features in the Bill as introduced.
