Bob the Builder: 'Yes we can fix energy wastage from buildings'

Cartoon character Bob the Builder greeted ministers going into the Energy Council this week with a key message about energy wastage from buildings: "Can we fix it? Yes we can!" The campaign is being run by the European Insulation Manufacturers Association (EURIMA) to launch a new report on energy efficiency and encourage a can-do attitude among the ministers in Luxembourg as well as Energy Commissioner Andris Piebalgs. The association estimates that buildings waste ?270 million across Europe every year and told ministers that if this amount could be saved it would be the equivalent of giving each and every EU citizen a ?640 annual tax rebate.
