Governments must work with business on climate

There was broad agreement at the Towards a Global Low Carbon Economy conference in Brussels this week that business and governments had to work together to tackle climate change. "It is clear there is no solution without the engagement of business," European Commission Vice President responsible for industry and enterprise, Guenter Verheugen, argued in his opening address to the 27 November conference. He added that 80 per cent of the technology needed to produce a low carbon economy would need to come from business.
