SCP plan to tackle overpackaging, says Commission

The European Commission plan on sustainable consumption and production, due to be launched next February or March, will tackle, if indirectly, overpackaging and recyclability, a DG Environment official has said.rn"Packaging is involved to the extent that we are seeing how to deal with products and more closely integrate the life cycle approach to products in the SCP plan," the official told EE & PL. "Other initiatives will be developed on this basis. We are in favour of looking at the ecodesign of products, and to see the implications in terms of recyclability."
