Child safety group ambivalent on flame retardants

The European Child Safety Alliance (ECSA) this week declined to give full backing to flame retardants, in a survey of child accident fatalities in 18 countries and what they could do to bring standards up to those of the best performing nation, Sweden. Although burns were among the listed causes of preventable deaths and injuries where the 18 countries could do more, the ECSA was reluctant to come out in favour of flame retardants.
