Brown sets climate action plan

Industry remained sceptical that the plan's renewable energy goals are achievable, while green groups were disappointed that the UK's renewables policy, if ambitious, would not come into force for 18 months. Mr Brown's action plan follows the launch of the "one stop shop" for greener homes and publication of the "world's first climate bill". "There will be hard choices and tough decisions," he said on Monday at the Foreign Press Association, but the new low carbon economy "could bring thousands of jobs".
