Commission should provide real strategy not city planning

The European Commission should set proper laws, not get bogged down in planning details. That was the view of a range of stakeholders in reaction to Parliament's adoption of the Green Paper on Urban Transport this week (see previous story).rnFrom Parliament one Italian MEP said that "the Green Paper opens the path to a common sense approach", while an Austrian MEP warned that "the Commission should not become Europe's traffic warden."
