Luxembourg's packaging law calls for higher recovery rate

Luxembourg must reach a 65 per cent recovery rate by 31 December 2008, five per cent more than set in the revised packaging and packaging waste directive 2004/12/EC. That was the main message of Luxembourg's new law, published this year. Luxembourg must also reach a general 60 per cent recycling rate as opposed to 55-80 per cent in the revised Directive (see Table 1).
