Parliamentary representatives on ECHA board resign

Both parliamentary representatives on the European Chemicals Agency (ECHA) Management Board have resigned leaving MEPs facing a struggle to find replacements quickly.rnThe first, Bernd Lange, formally resigned in a letter to Management Board chair Thomas Jakl with effect from 15 July, because he was elected an MEP in June.rnThe second, Alexander de Roo, told the European Parliament's ECHA co-ordinator Finnish Green MEP Satu Hassi that he was resigning in an email, but has yet to make that formal, an official for the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee told EE&PL. The official said that de Roo had to send letters resigning to both Parliament President Jerzy Buzek and Jakl.
