McAvan gets key post on Environment Committee

The British Socialist Linda McAvan was named this week as the co-ordinator in the Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee for the socialists and democrats, the second largest party in the European Parliament.rnMcAvan has regularly intervened in debates on health claims and food labelling at ENVI meetings and is a strong supporter of colour coded traffic lights as part of an EU front of pack food label.
