EFSA verdict on GM maize

Genetically modified maize 59122 × 1507 × NK603 is "as safe and nutritious as its non GM counterpart" the European Food Safety Authority's GMO panel said in its latest Opinion on an application from Pioneer Hi-bred International.rnThe application for the insect resistant glyphosate and glufosinate tolerant GMO maize is for food and feed uses, import and processing (not cultivation).rnThe GMO panel dismisses concerns about survival of feral maize if it is accidentally released into the environment and says risk to target and non target organisms is "negligible."
