Retail Forum starts work

The long awaited Retail Forum kicked off this week as EE&PL was going to press.rnLaunched under the European Commission's sustainable consumption and production action plan, and co-chaired by DG Environment head of unit Timo Makela, the first meeting saw two large retailers, Carrefour and Leroy Merlin, set out their strategies to improve energy efficiency.rnPlans for future discussion will be the environmental footprint of stores, consumer information, product improvements and logistics, said a joint statement from the two retail partners in the Forum EuroCommerce and the European Retail Round Table.
