The EU's ground-breaking Retail Forum, set up in 2009 as part of the European Commission's Sustainable Consumption and Production plan, is working effectively, according to a new report, but more could be done to communicate on sustainability to customers.rnThe report monitoring the achievements of the voluntary targets that Retail Forum members must set as a prerequisite for membership, found that retailers were delivering on their green promises either made individually or as part of the Retailers' Environmental Action Programme (REAP). As a result, shoppers in Europe are finding more green products on the shelves thanks to the promises made by European retailers to promote more environmentally sustainable consumption patterns.
