Plans to allow packaging and non-packaging waste of similar material to be put in the same recycling bin have been revealed in Germany's draft waste management law, on which a consultation is to be launched later this month.rnThe draft, released by Germany's Federal Ministry for the Environment (BMU) last month and already too late for Germany to meet the 12 December 2010 implementation deadline under the revised EU waste framework directive (WFD), said that preliminary work to evaluate the need for changes in the German Packaging Ordinance to allow introduction of this collection system is being carried out alongside the legislative procedure for the "Closed Loop" Cycle and Waste Management Act.
