A regulation bringing EU law into line with an update to the Basel Convention on waste shipments has taken effect after being published in the EU Official Journal (OJ L 119 of 13.5.2010).rnCommission Regulation (EU) No 413/2010 of 12 May amends Annexes 111, IV and V to the 2006 waste shipments regulation (1013/2006) to take into account changes that the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development agreed to the Convention in 2008. The Basel Convention and the EU regulation that applies it in the 27 member states, restricts waste exports to developing countries that are unable to deal with it correctly.
