Volcanic ash chaos delays MEPs' decision on EFSA board

Travel chaos caused by volcanic ash meant that the European Parliament's Environment, Public Health and Food Safety Committee's co-ordinators (political group representatives) had to cancel a scheduled Strasbourg meeting to decide their view on the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) Management Board candidates.rnThe Committee's EFSA liaison person, the Dutch left wing MEP Kartika Liotard, was unable to travel to Strasbourg. Without Liotard, the meeting, to evaluate the 14 candidates on the shortlist for the seven posts, could not go ahead.
