Commission adopts rules to boost green technology for cars

The automotive industry will have more incentive to invest in new technologies that reduce carbon emissions from new cars, under legislation adopted by the European Commission this week. The Regulation presented on 25 July enables car manufacturers to receive CO_2 emission credits if they fit new cars with approved "eco-innovations" which cut emissions.
