Classification; labelling and packaging revision in OJ

摘要

An amendment to the classification, labelling and packaging of substances and mixtures (CLP) regulation to align it with a revision to international chemical classification rules was published in the EU's Official Journal on 30 March (OJ L 83 of 30.3.2011). The 10 March Commission regulation brings CLP in line with the third revision to the UN's Globally Harmonised System (GHS) in December 2008, which notably contains amendments on provisions for the allocation of hazard statements and for the labelling of small packaging, new sub-categories for respiratory and skin sensitisation, the revision of the classification criteria for long-term hazards (chronic toxicity) to the aquatic environment and a new hazard class for substances and mixtures hazardous to the ozone layer.
