The UK government will create a national system on classification, labelling and packaging (CLP) that will be independent of EU CLP actions, according to an agency official. Francis McGuigan, a policy adviser at the Health and Safety Executive (HSE), said a UK CLP system will continue to adopt the Globally Harmonized System of chemicals classification as set out in the EU CLP Regulation.
