France facing ECJ over industrial emissions failings

The European Commission last week decided to take France to the European Court of Justice (ECJ) for failing to implement EU rules on industrial pollution. Four years after the deadline, France is still failing to ensure that a number of industrial installations meet the requirements of a Directive designed to prevent industrial pollution.
