Italy has yet to show that it has taken all the measures required to comply with EU waste legislation in the Campania region, Environment Commissioner Janez Potocnik told MEPs during a debate on the issue in the European Parliament last week. "We will continue to be strict on infringements and go to Court when necessary," Potocnik said about what he saw as the "catastrophic waste situation" in Italy.
