EU to ban fish imports from countries that overfish

New environmental rules empowering the European Commission to ban EU imports of fish from overfished stocks were approved by the European Parliament last week. "Bans should discourage massive overfishing of mackerel by Iceland and the Faroe Islands," said a Parliament press release on the 12 September vote.
