Wales: Plastic bag tax results in reuse success

The Welsh plastic bag tax introduced in October 2011 has helped to change behaviour significantly as shoppers in Wales overwhelmingly switched to bringing their own bags.Welsh Government research published on 5 July shows that those who took their own bags on their last supermarket trip increased from 61 to 82 per cent six months after the compulsory fee came into force.
