Disappointment all round for Rio+ 20 agreement

The Rio+20 UN Earth Summit ended last Friday with the signing of a 53-page declaration called "the future we want", encouraging countries to switch to a green economy, but with few firm or specific new commitments on how to achieve this aim.While the 22 June document is the broadest to date, it was widely criticised as being "toothless", "outrageous" and an "epic failure". Green groups also criticised Brazil for a poor handling of the summit.
