Waste prevention target unlikely, says Commission official

A European Commission official has confirmed that the Commission is unlikely to propose a waste prevention target in 2014 as part of its review of EU waste legislation. Speaking to EE&PL on the sidelines of a waste prevention conference organised by the Association of Cities and Regions for Recycling (ACR＋) in Barcelona on 14 November, Gunther Wolff from the waste management and recycling unit in DG Environment said this was because there were such wide differences between member states.
